World Tuberculosis Day is observed on 24th March every year. The date marks the day in 1882 when Robert Koch announced he had discovered the bacillus that causes T.B. This opened the gates for further research and towards curing the disease. Tuberculosis still remains one of the deadly infectious disease in the world.
Every year, half a million people die of Tuberculosis. But with the efforts of U.N. and W.H.O., every year, many lives are saved. It still remains an epidemic in developing countries.
